Coming soon from HPI Racing, the eagerly awaited Savage Octane XL
Continuing the success of the HPI
Savage truck, the next natural step for HPI Racing was to take its
flagship model and turn it into a petrol truck, and so the Savage
Octane XL was born.
After visiting HPI Racing Europe and
viewing the prototype Savage Octane XL, you can begin to respect the
design and technology that has been used in creating the next phase
of RC car development.
The Prototype has cutting edge 3D Laser
printed exhaust, manifold & gearbox, which in itself is pretty
impressive. With a Mighty 15cc Petrol engine housed within the
truck, any overheating issues were erased by installing a 4 inch
ducted cooling fan. Features the standard Savage XL specs plus all
new XL fuel tank for even longer drive times, tuned pipe that matches
the Octane engine for increased torque and power, all new composite
triple break system, all new designed alloy TVP (Twin Vertical Plate)
chassis and with an even tougher roll cage and new XL bodyshell, they
certainly have been busy at HPI Racing.
HPI fans have been eagerly awaiting the
release of the Savage Octane, but some are still concerned there has
been no indication of the final price tag, we've been given a hint
that the RRP is likely to settle around the £800 marker and for
those of you who gasp at the price, we can certainly say that we are
sure the Savage Octane will soon grow to have a huge fan base.
We'll keep you posted on any news and
development concerning the Octane, release date has yet to be
confirmed, but we have been led to believe that June/July will be the
earliest it may come to RC shops. Pre Order your HPI Savage Octane XL as we are guessing these will sell out as soon as the first shipment hits the stores.
